Introduction to dovetail jointing, 5-day course

Come to the Sylva Wood Centre and learn dovetail jointing skills under the expert eye of our Head of Wood School Joseph Bray.

The dovetail joint is often cited as the peak of craftsmanship in wood - this course is an introduction to the dovetail joint hoping to de-mystify the process.  The course tutor will guide you in the use hand tools to accurately mark out and cut joints in the making of a tray using home-grown hardwoods.  You will use sharp saws and chisels in cutting the dovetail joints and a spokeshave to shape the handles.
